Who may carry weapons on board our aircraft?

Pilots only

135.119 - Only government employees who are authorized or people specifically authorized under the certificate holder.

In Part 135 operations, carrying weapons on board is tightly controlled by regulation 135.119. The only people who may lawfully have a weapon on an aircraft are government employees who are authorized, or individuals specifically authorized by the certificate holder. This means that general passengers cannot bring weapons, and simply having a permit or being a security official does not automatically grant authorization—you must be either an authorized government employee or specifically authorized by the certificate holder to carry a weapon. The regulation sets these narrow exceptions to ensure safety and compliance with applicable laws, rather than allowing broad access to weapons onboard.

Any passenger with a permit

Security personnel only
